We're Thankful for New Terrain

As Thanksgiving approaches, we have a lot to be thankful for. I would like to take a moment to share
the things I am most grateful for this holiday season.

New Terrain

Bambi opens Thanksgiving Day! Photo taken November 21

This week’s snowmaking effort saw a first for us this season: all 21 guns were fired up in one night. With that production, we’re able to open more terrain! Lower Bambi, a true beginner trail, opened today along with Lift 2 (a Magic Carpet). For Thanksgiving day, we’re going to open Pedro’s Park and Bambi. Plus, our terrain park crew has been hard at work shaping the snow into our first park this year. It now has five features.

Lodge Addition

If you’ve been skiing already this season, you’ve noticed some change to our base area. Renovations are now complete on our historic Lodge, including a new 2,141 square foot addition, which houses a new rental shop with upgraded ski and snowboard rental equipment, a new Ticket Office, retail space, and improved traffic flow with more gathering space, new bathrooms, and locker room.

Family

This year, I’m most thankful for family, including my extended family made up of all of you! I’m thankful for the opportunity to pass on my love of skiing to my 3 year old daughter. Last week, I took her to see Warren Miller’s Line of Descent to start cultivating the winter stoke in my household. Needless to say, it worked. She tells everyone and anyone how excited she is to go skiing. I’m planning to get my first turns in this Friday with her and my wife.

Lastly, we are so very grateful for our new and returning guests who help make up the fabric of the Sipapu community. Without you all, and our amazing resort staff, we would not be able to continue to be the most “Family-Friendly, Family-Fun” resort in the Rockies! I hope to see you out on the slopes for Thanksgiving Ski Week!
