Fishing
Good to excellent fishing may be found on the banks of the Rio Pueblo. The Rio Pueblo flows next to Highway 518 which makes access to its many pools and riffles extremely easy. As a result, it is a great stream for the entire family to fish.

With three different kinds of trout swimming in its waters, there are plenty of fishing opportunities for everyone. However, to maintain its population, catch and release fishing is promoted, though a good fish dinner is a bonus. Whether using a spinner, bait or dropping a fly on its waters, there are many effective techniques and ways to catch one of the many trout found in its flowing waters.

A New Mexico fishing license is required and may be purchased at Sipapu.

The store also has a good supply of fishing flies, spinners and bait. Some fishing gear is also available at reasonable prices. There are also fishing lessons available once a month or by appointment.

Rafting
The white waters of the Rio Grande tantalize even the most seasoned rafter. Guided tours are available for charter in Taos, just 22 scenic miles away.
